....Scheduled to have tubes placed and drain fluid from Jillian's ears!
After 3 failed hearing tests, several ear infections and several rounds of antibiotics -along with many sleepless nights, we have scheduled the inevitable and unavoidable surgery.
General anesthesia, a quick procedure, preparation takes longer than the actual surgery. A small cut made in the eardrum, drain fluid, place tubes. Tubes stay in 6 to 12 months and fall out on their own. An ENT checkup every three months to make sure that there is no infection. Prevent water from getting into the ears. Hope that the procedure works, and does not have to be repeated. Just need to get pre-op clearance from the pediatrician, as well as, the pre-op interview ad we're set for next month. More traumatizing for the parents than the child - won't argue that!!
