.........And wanted to acknowledge it!
Subject: Your beautiful daughter
Hello! I jus came across your blog from another blog. :) Hi! Too bad you didn't continue blogging. I just wanted to say, as you know, how stunning your little girl is. Also, I'm so happy to see adoption stories out of Jiangsu. I lived there for a year. I lived in Suzhou. I also volunteered in one one of the local orphanages and it was one of the most important things I've done in my life. I got to foster a baby from there and I will never be the same again. We are starting our adoption process and I'm so excited.
I hope I'm not being intrusive, I am just soooo curious if you've done genetic testing. It must be very interesting. But you don't have to answer that of course. I'm just so fascinated with her. A fellow expat, volunteer, adopted the son she was fostering. They (the family) are very fair-skinned with red and blonde hairs. The son has albinism but we were all wondering if he really did. His hair was strawberry blonde (but he does have the blue eyes) and he looks so much like his family. Oh he is just precious. And so loved. And so handsome.
Anyway, sorry I'm talking as if I know you forever. Just wanted to share.Sent from my iPad
I hope all is well with you and your beautiful family.
Sending many blessings,
Luciana
P.s. I am the visitor from Abu Dhabi that keeps showing on your visitors' feed :)
Hi Luciana!
Thank you for the email! I hope that you do not mind me sharing. I loved hearing from you and I was so sad for my neglect of my blog!! It really has been a long time since I updated. I can't believe how fast the time went!
I do periodically check in with the blog and see that we always have visitors, but can't seem to find the time to put something together. So when your email arrived I thought it would be a good time for an update and some of our latest photos!!
Our daughter is now seven years old and in the first grade!!! Can you believe it??!! And that beautiful head of hair is down to her but!! We're trying to let it grow as long as possible so that we can donate to Locks of Love.
We had fun in the sun.
We went swimming.
We set sail.
We danced.
We made funny faces.
We turned SEVEN!
We went to school.
We're in the FIRST grade!
We took lots of pictures.
Okay....Okay!!!
You're waiting for pictures.
Right??!!
Without further adieu....
And your viewing pleasure.....
Just a few photos to catch up until I can figure out how to upload the photos that I really wanted to share! I've been trying for the last two hours with some technical difficulties. I'm done for tonight. Hope you enjoy them!
And Luciana, Congrats on your pending adoption!! We are THRILLED for you!! Hope you keep us posted!! Looking forward to hearing all about it and photos too!!

Oh thank you for the sweet update! She is just so pretty. I'm very ok with you sharing my email. :)
But, I meant to mention regarding the genetic testing, that I read about it in another blog. The cutie was adopted from Vietnam, but her features were a bit different. So the mom was wondering and had testing done. And it showed a high percentage of another heritage (can't remember how high, and she didn't say from where). And I just thought it was fascinating. Reading your story made me think of that. Beautiful.
Thanks for your reply. Got the email.
